Tury graduated with Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) and Master of Social Sciences (Criminology) in Hong Kong. Before migrating to Australia, she worked in Social Welfare Department of HKSAR Government with extensive frontline social work experiences in complex counselling, case management and statutory duties. Currently she is a private practitioner in relationship and sexology counselling, a radio host, a Commonwealth Authorised Marriage Celebrant and an educator in community services and social work.
Tury is a seasoned and dedicated volunteer with a particular interest in migrants. She was a volunteer of St Vincent de Paul for 6 years to visit refugees in Villawood Detention Centre and the community. In 2015, she founded a social support group for migrants from HK via Facebook with over 900 members.
Tury started her journey as a Board Member for the not-for-profit sector since 2009 and served for 6 community organisations in Hong Kong and Sydney. To reinforce her governance knowledge, she completed a Diploma of Business (Governance) in 2019 and is currently a member of the Institute of Community Directors Australia (ICDA).
Tury is also a keen café and coffee lover and have visited over 300 cafes in Sydney and tens in other states.
