The Australian Chinese Charity Foundation Inc. (ACCF) recently attended a special evening at St Merkorious Charity’s Rhodes service, where our $10,000 donation is helping to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals. The event was also attended by the Federal Member for Reid and representatives from GambleAware NSW, showcasing a united commitment to supporting those in need.
It was a big night, with approximately 80 attendees, many of whom were visiting St Merkorious Charity for the first time. These individuals, including people experiencing homelessness and those struggling with the rising cost of living, were served hot meals in a welcoming and supportive environment.
During our visit, we saw how St Merkorious Charity is using ACCF contributions to provide vital services. The evening was an opportunity for ACCF to connect with the community and witness how our funding supports not just meals, but also a space for connection and care. It was particularly meaningful to see first-time visitors feeling comfortable and cared for, thanks to the hard work of St Merkorious Charity’s dedicated team and volunteers.

It was an inspiring evening that reaffirmed the importance of standing together to address the challenges faced by our community.
