The Australian Chinese Charity Foundation (ACCF) successfully hosted the annual NSW Chinese Community Lunar New Year Celebration Dinner at the Eight Restaurant Haymarket on Friday, 16 February 2024, marking the festive entrance into the Year of the Dragon.
Welcome speech was by Ms. Annie Tang JP, Event Chair and Vice-Chairman of ACCF, she expressed her heartfelt appreciation to leaders and community members who contributed to the joyous occasion, emphasizing the importance of reflection, resilience, and strengthened community bonds.

ACCF Chairman, Benjamin Chow AO, expressed his gratitude to the diverse group of Chinese community organizations that joined together to celebrate cultural heritage and accomplishments.
Distinguished Guest of Honour, including Ms Sally Sitou MP, Member for Reid representing The Hon. Anthony Albanese, Prime Minister of Australia , Mr Julian Leeser MP, Federal Member for Berowra representing The Hon. Peter Dutton MP, Leader of the Opposition, Ms Julia Finn MP, Parliamentary Secretary to the Premier and Member for Granville representing the Premier of New South Wales, and The Hon. Mark Speakman MP, Member for Cronulla and Leader of the Opposition NSW, attended the event and delivered speeches, commending the achievements and contributions of Chinese Australians to Australia and extending warm festive wishes to the community.
During a cheque presentation, ACCF Funds & Grants Chairperson, Ms. Cecilia Tsai, handed a check of $138,550 in total to representatives of 15 community projects across Australia with a theme to address homelessness issues. The funding will be allocated to these successful projects, which have demonstrated their compassion and ability to provide essential support and services to individuals experiencing homelessness or are at risk of becoming homeless.
