Tury graduated with Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) and Master of Social Sciences (Criminology) in Hong Kong. Before migrating to Australia, she worked in Social Welfare Department of HKSAR Government with extensive frontline social work experiences in complex counselling, case management and statutory duties. Currently she is a Service Manager for a not-for-profit community organisation, Registered Social Worker (AASW) and Fieldwork Educator for Bachelor’s and Master’s degree social work placements for various universities in NSW.
She is a seasoned and dedicated volunteer with a particular interest in migrants. She was a volunteer of St Vincent de Paul for 6 years to visit refugees in Villawood Detention Centre and the community. In 2015, she founded a social support group for migrants from HK via Facebook with over 600 members. In 2020 she also started hosting a program at 2CR targeting migrants.
Tury started her journey as a Board Member for the not-for-profit sector since 2009 and served for 3 community organisations in Hong Kong and Sydney. To reinforce her governance knowledge, she completed a Diploma of Business (Governance) in 2019 and is currently a member of the Institute of Community Directors Australia (ICDA).
Tury is also a keen café and coffee lover and have visited over 300 cafes in Sydney and tens in others states.
