The record-breaking floods in Queensland and NSW has caused immense hardship for our community, a lot of businesses and family homes were submerged in water. The entire state’s coastline was put on high alert. Lismore is a city in north-eastern New South Wales. It is also the regional centre in the Northern Rivers region of the State. Following days of flooding in Brisbane, the Wilsons River at Lismore reached 14.4 metres, more than two metres higher than the previous record of 12.27 metres in February 1954. Nearly all the CBD was completely underwater.
ACCF wishes to extend our helping hands to the Lismore community. Many people and businesses have lost everything. We appeal to our network of members, supporters and friends to donate generously to the Lismore community for the purpose of disaster recovery and community support arising from the current flooding disaster. All donations received will be sent to the Lismore Council Flood Appeal Fund. Donations to “ACCF Flood Appeal” $2 or more are tax deductible.
