The Australian Chinese Charity Foundation Inc (ACCF) was formed in 1990 as a broad based charity organisation to help the Australian community at large. It is supported by the generosity of patrons, trustees and a corporate trustee; life members and ordinary members; the dedication of a Management Committee and; a Council Board (since 2009) – all voluntary members who have worked consistently to achieve ACCF’s aims and objectives and to extend ACCF’s reach to many other charitable organisations.
ACCF CHINESE NEW YEAR EVENT 2000
To celebrate the year of the Golden Dragon, which happens every 60 years, ACCF and the Yau Kung Moon Martial Art Academy jointly organized the Dragon Parade “Lion Dance” on 13 February 2000. It attracted 200,000spectators. The Dragon proceeded from Goulburn St through Chinatown and joined the commencement of the annual Dragon Boat races at Darling Harbour. More than $5,000 was raised from the event.
